While photographing Washington D.C. nightlife, Chris became introduced to the local drag scene and got his drag start with the D.C. Kings. His performance career continued as a co-producer of nationally recognized Chocolate City Burlesque and Cabaret and co-founder of the award-winning drag king troupe, Pretty Boi Drag. As a solo artist, Chris Jay won Best of Gay D.C. Best Artist in 2016, Best Drag King in 2017, and Baltimore King of Pride in 2018.
